Once in a while I deserve a treat! So I decided to make this easy version of "Brioche au chocolat", meaning chocolate brioche, which is a popular French pastry.
Ingredients:
- 2 PK refrigerated crescent rolls
- 8 TB semisweet chocolate chips (just fill the bottom of the tablespoon)
- powdered sugar to sprinkle on top of each pastry
Preheat oven to 400°F
Remove the dough according to the package's directions. Smooth the perforations (dotted lines) of the dough with your fingers and cut it in 8 pieces.
Place 1 tablespoon of the chocolate chips in the center of each piece. Bring each of the 4 corners to the center to form an envelope.
Place pastries on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake them for about 10-15 minutes or until golden.
Remove and place pastries on a cooling rack. Sprinkle a bit of powdered sugar on top of each one.
Serve warm.
Makes 8 pastries.
Enjoy!
