Oat & cheese crackers

Oats are good for our health containing high amount of fiber. They do a good job for our health (cholesterol, heart, hypertension, etc.) and even the environment.

This particular recipe is high in fiber content. They might look dark but that's the way it is supposed to be! Anything white looks good for the consumer but lacks in nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 4 oz. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (I used Parmesan cheese)
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (warm)
  • 1 tbsp yeast
Directions:

Heat the oven at 350F. Let the yeast rise with the milk in a warm room.

In the meantime, mix all the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. When the yeast is ready, add it to dry ingredients. Mix well. If the mix is too dry, add a bit more of milk or water.

Knead the mix on the counter making a roll to cut them round or flat to cut in shapes. I used some normal cookie cutters as shown in picture.

They are perfect for the 5 o'clock afternoon tea.

Makes: about 40 normal pieces.
